Hey There! I'm Amanda
Amanda Sowards is a full time humanitarian, originally from Charlotte, NC and now living in between North Carolina and Nicaragua.
She is the VP and Mission Director for World Missions Outreach and Co-Founder of Feeding the 5000. The mission of these two nonprofit organizations are focused on changing the way you view charity through self-sustainable education, nutrition, and faith in effort to end the generational cycle of poverty and share the love of Christ.
Amanda was named Humanitarian of the Year by Art and Beauty Magazine, Charlotte’s Top 30 under 30, Spectrum Networks Everyday Hero, awarded best nonprofit of the year by the Global Beauty Awards, is a former Ms Earth Americas, Ms North Carolina United States and Teen Miss North Carolina.
Amanda created Passport Confessional as a faith based lifestyle blog to cultivate a community for other like minded people who have a passion and heart for missions, ministry, faith, travel, and overcoming real life adversities.
I am passionate about human rights and revolutionizing the ideals of charity and giving through being a hand up, not just a hand out!
I am radically obsessed with empowering today’s generation to be catalyst for their communities as leaders who are equipped with the education and tools they need to succeed while inspiring others to do the same.
My goal is to share the wisdom I have gained on and off a life on the mission field, so others can also step into their full potential of living and serving with intentional purpose.
In 2000, my family founded World Missions Outreach, an international nonprofit NGO ministry, and moved to serve on the mission field in Nicaragua.
In 2011, I co-founded an international non-profit with two of my best friends, called Feeding the 5000.
In 2017, my grandfather and president of World Missions Outreach passed away. I took a leap of faith and stepped into ministry full time as the VP and mission director for World Missions Outreach.
I always knew that the work that God is doing through my families ministry and mission would be part of my life, but I didn't realize that it would soon become my life! I am humbled and grateful to serve on the mission field and live a life of purpose that is worth living.
